WETAYA SONG OF THE DAY: Sarkodie – Babe (Feat. Mugeez)

Michael Owusu Addo, known professionally as Sarkodie, is a Ghanaian rapper and entrepreneur from Tema. He is arguably the best, and most decorated rapper from Africa. He is considered one of the major proponents of the Azonto genre and dance. His contributions to the Ghanaian music industry has earned him numerous accolades, including the Vodafone Ghana Music Award for Artiste of the Decade.

The song “Babe” was released in 2009, a single off Sarkodie’s debut album, Makye. It was/is the album’s lead single and became an instant hit and gave Sarkodie exposure. In 2010, his “Push” and “Baby” songs were ranked ninth and thirteenth on Joy FM’s Top 50 songs of 2009, respectively.
