This natural unusual weather phenomenon occurred in the late hours of the afternoon at Dodowa and its environs. Residents marveled at this natural occurrence as it was the first time happening in the neighborhood. Some said it was snowing while others claimed it was raining ‘ice blocks’ as ice pallets were visible on the ground.
Hail, as it is naturally and scientifically called is a large frozen raindrop produced by intense thunderstorms, where snow and rain can coexist in the central updraft. As the snowflakes fall, liquid water freezes onto them forming ice pellets that will continue to grow as more and more droplets are accumulated.
