Site Preparation For Tesla’s Giga Factory Halted By German Court

The Berlin_Brandenburg Administrative Court has asked Tesla to halt its site preparation for the first Tesla car factory in Europe. This was due to an appeal made by the Green League Brandenburg, an environmental group. The group stated that, the factory has the potential of polluting the drinking water and harming wildlife of the area.

Tesla is currently in the process of clearing about 226 acres of forest land in a city east of Berlin. The felling of trees of the proposed site was to be finished in the next three days. The environment ministry of Germany informed the company that it could start making preparations on the site but at its own risk.

Parts of the site being cleared in Gruenheide, east of Berlin.

The construction of the Berlin gigafactory factory will be Tesla’s first in Europe and fourth in the world.
